Privacy policy
What uraudience does with information about you, as the site works today.
The short version
uraudience saves the reports you make, with the answers they were built from, and, if you create an account, your email address and a password. The site owner can read every saved report and its answers. A report is shown to the public only if you tick a box that allows it, and then only as a copy with identifying details blacked out. There are no analytics and no advertising trackers. uraudience sets two kinds of cookie, both only for the features below: a sign-in cookie while you are signed in, and a report cookie when you make a report without an account.
Your finder answers and your report
The finder keeps your answers in your browser's local storage, under the name ua_find_draft, so a refresh does not lose them. The audience builder keeps its draft the same way, under the name ua_build_draft. The places you search for and pick in the builder are sent to the uraudience server to look up that area's Census figures, and are not saved. When you ask for your report, those answers are sent to the uraudience server, which builds the report and saves it, with the answers it was built from, in uraudience's database at Supabase. The report gets its own address. If you are not signed in, a cookie named fn_claim, which scripts on the page cannot read, lets only this browser open it for up to 30 days. Creating an account or signing in from the report's page moves the report into your account. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes the answers kept there and the fn_claim cookie, but not a saved report.
Who can read your answers and your report
The site owner can read every saved report and the answers it was built from, including reports made without an account. They read them on a private page that only the owner can open, and in the database itself. Nobody else can open your report from the site.
Showing your report as an example, only if you agree
On the last step of the finder there is a box that stays unticked unless you tick it: “You may show a version of this report with identifying details removed as an example.” If you tick it, the site owner may publish a copy of your report in the example gallery. The copy is made on the uraudience server and stored separately from your report. It has the business name, the description, the service area, the ZIP code, the radius and any city, the website, social accounts, customer notes, and anything else you typed, including every place the report repeats those words blacked out. What stays visible is the business type, the audiences, the channels, the plans, and the numbers with their labels. The site owner checks the copy before it is published and can unpublish it at any time.
If you are signed in, you can untick the box on your report's page, and any copy made from it is deleted at once. If you made the report without an account, create an account or sign in from the report to keep it, then change your choice there.
What our host sees
The site is served by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel records requests as part of running the site, such as your IP address, your browser, and the pages you ask for. uraudience does not add anything to those records.
Your account
Creating an account stores your email address and your password (as a one-way hash, never the password itself) with Supabase, the database and sign-in provider uraudience uses, along with your reports and your trial status. While you are signed in, Supabase's sign-in cookies keep you signed in. No payment details are collected anywhere on this site: a trial starts with a promo code.
Deleting an account or a saved report from the site is not built yet. The contact page will say when you can ask for it.
Public data and customer lists
The audience builder uses public Census data that describes groups of people, never individuals. When customer-list templates are offered, they will be blank files made in your browser. uraudience never receives your customers' contact details.
Questions
